Relieving Pain with Far Infrared Technology

Last Updated: March 26, 2018

Welcome! It looks like you might be new here, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about me and my blog. My name is Julie Ryan and I live with Fibromyalgia. I've chosen to live positively, to fight back with diet and lifestyle changes and it's made a huge difference for me. The difference between living all my days in bed, and actually LIVING. I hope you'll keep reading and subscribe to my Newsletter to make sure you don't miss a post. Thanks for visiting!

*BTW, just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links (some of my posts do).

Relieving Pain with Far Infrared Technology

Do you feel better when you are comfortably warm? I do. How about when you are sitting in the warm rays of the sun? There’s a reason cats always find the sunny spot to lay in, even when they are indoors. They’ve got it figured out. Those warm rays of the sun emit invisible infrared rays that penetrate deeper into the body, warming the muscles and tissues, increasing oxygenation, and healing the tissues.

Thankfully for those of us who live in climates that see little sunlight, the sun isn’t the only option for taking advantage of these invisible infrared rays. We see a great deal of sunlight in my part of the country, but even so we have stretches where I wonder if I’ll ever see the sun again.

I’m pretty sure that all of January and February felt that way this year. During those months I would have loved to have had another option like a far infrared sauna or heating mat. Who wouldn’t love a sauna in their home?

Sadly, saunas are large, and (for most) generally unaffordable. Far infrared heating mats, on the hand, might be an option.

Using infrred therapy for chronic pain relief

The benefits of far infrared

Far infrared isn’t some fad, there are actually several medical studies into the technology using either saunas or heating mats.

A 2005 study compared two groups of chronic pain patients undergoing multi-discipline treatment plans. The first group received a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, rehabilitation, and exercise therapy while the second group received the same treatments plus far infrared sauna treatments.

While both groups saw a decrease in pain, depression, and anger scores, the second group saw a greater reduction in pain and anger scores and saw a larger percentage of patients return to work.

A 2005 study found a decrease in pain, stiffness, and fatigue in after a 4-week treatment period of just eight infrared sauna sessions.

A 2005 study found that wearing a far infrared neck device for just a week resulted in a significant reduction of muscle stiffness in the neck and shoulders.

While most of the studies have patients using infrared saunas that’s certainly not the only way to enjoy the benefits of far infrared technology, nor is it the cheapest. A single session in a far infrared sauna can run you $80 a pop! Not to mention the stress and inconvenience of having to leave home and go wherever you can find that sauna.

Enter HealthyLine Mats

HealthyLine mats for relieving chronic pain

HealthyLine has created a line of heating mats that use natural gemstones to create the infrared heat. We really don’t give enough credit to what the natural products of the earth do for our health.

Amethyst, for instance, while being a fairly expensive precious gemstone also emits a steady flow of far infrared and negative ions to help promote healing and sleep.

Jade emits a low heat that promotes relaxation, and tourmaline emits a high number of negative ions which help revitalize your energy and detoxify the body.Natural gemstone heat therapy from Healthyline far infrared mats

What’s all this about negative ions anyway?

Negative ions are naturally abundant in the environment. Negative ions contain one or more extra electrons creating a negative charge that counteracts the positive charge of the positive ions that surround us constantly in our non-natural environment.

Negative ions promote the oxygen flow in the brain and may also protect us against germs in the air, improve our mood, and help us think more clearly.

HealthyLine mats create a warming experience unlike others. The natural gemstones provide hot stone therapy, warming and relaxing the muscles while providing a spa-like experience right in your home. The infrared also increases the effect massage and chiropractic work, as well as other natural therapies like PEMF (pulse electromagnetic frequency) therapy and photon light therapy.

PEMF therapy for chronic pain

If you’ve been around my blog much at all you’ve seen me talk about PEMF therapy. I can’t share enough about how much PEMF has helped me and my family with various chronic pain issues. HealthyLine mats are more than just natural gemstones providing infrared therapy and negative ions. They throw in one more element that really takes them over the top – PEMF.

PEMF basically mimics the frequencies emitted by the earth. So, the same natural healing you get when you walk around outside barefoot. I know it sounds like a lot of hooha, but there’s a ton of research that proves it work going back 50 years or so.

Some of the HealthyLine mats are also PEMF mats. If you, like me, have enjoyed the benefits of a PEMF device, imagine being able to coat your entire body in PEMF… now imagine that plus the warmth of infrared producing stones. I’m sitting here imagining it now and the thought it not far off from laying on a nice, warm, sunny beach. I’d so love that.

What is Photon Light Therapy?

Photon light therapy is visible light. Near infrared light uses visible red light waves that are absorbed through the skin creating energy. This type of therapy has been found effective for the treatment of seasonal affective disorder and depression. Photon light therapy also helps stimulate cell regrowth, promoting wound healing and relieving chronic pain.

variety of far infrared products offered by HealthyLineAs you can see Healthyline’s patented mats combine several natural therapies together to create what could be one insanely powerful treatment for Fibromyalgia and chronic pain.

Combining a warming effect with negative ions, photon light therapy, and PEMF therapy creates one heck of a multi-dimensional natural healing therapy.

In addition to heated gemstone mats they also provide heated vests, knee pads, shoulder pads, pillows, and bedding.

Each mat comes with a 45-day free trial, a 1-year warranty, and a lifetime trade-in. You can return it for any reason during the initial 45 days.

If a new version is released that you want to try, just trade in your old one towards the cost, ensuring that you always have the top of the line without the top of the line cost.

HealthyLine products cover a wide range of sizes and option, with prices that vary from around $150 to over $2000, with the large king-size Inframat Pro running $2199.
