The Importance of Asking For Help

Last Updated: July 30, 2020

The importance of asking for help

Too often we don't ask for help because we assume that others will not be there for us, or that even if they want to be there, they won't be able to help. The problem is that we'll never know if we can depend on others if we never ask. This quote came straight from my Psych book: "Social support … [Read more...]

Balancing full-time rv travel and chronic illness

Just about a month ago my guy and I traded in normal life for a life of full-time travel. We've learned a lot in those few weeks, and we're still learning. I'm relearning how to pace myself and we're both learning how to balance work and travel life with chronic illness. I've learned that … [Read more...]

Asking For Help is Giving a Gift

Last Updated: July 21, 2020

As difficult as it is to ask for help, most of us loved to be asked. We often get confused and think that we are handing someone a burden when we ask them for help, but really when we ask for help, we are giving them a gift.  I love to read and books often inspire me, especially non-fiction. … [Read more...]

5 beliefs to make you a stronger person

Illness took a lot away from me, but it's also given me much. The first couple of years after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia were the hardest for me, I came close to giving up completely and I certainly understand why some people do. I can only say it was a certain level of stubbornness that I … [Read more...]

10 questions to help you change your thinking

Last Updated: June 30, 2020

How to flip your script and change your thinking

When things start going downhill it's easy to get stuck in negative mode. I've been there more times than I care to admit. That place where it's difficult to even think of something positive and once something negative starts rolling around in my brain all I can do is ruminate on it. It can be hard … [Read more...]

5 mental shifts that I had to make in order to feel better

I've had many positive changes in my life since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. You look too good to be sick!

You look too good to be sick! Have you ever heard that before? "You don't look sick" is bad enough, but this idea that you look too good to be sick, I think it might be worse. Recently, I read a post on a friend's page about why it's better to make sure you look like crap when you visit the … [Read more...]

5 things I've learned about managing stressful times

I've learned a lot about myself in the last few years. One of the biggest things I'm still learning is how I handle stress, both physically and mentally. I've realized that often I don't realize I'm stressed out until my body starts shutting down. Mentally my creativity will seem to come to a … [Read more...]

Are you spending your time with the wrong people?

Throughout the last few years I've made a strong effort to spend more time with the right people and less (or no) time with the wrong people.  Throughout the last decade I've shared several topics about dealing with toxic people, or people who drain your energy. It was something I … [Read more...]
