When you have Fibro, flares are gonna come. If you are lucky they may not last long or come as often. Below are 5 tips for getting through a Fibro flare, that might help you through a flare faster, and make it pass faster.
1. Stop Fighting
When you learn to stop fighting the flares you will find they move on much faster. Fighting takes so much more energy; when you just relax into a flare and give yourself permission to rest and let your body recover, you can recover much faster and return the life you want.I've found that when I stop fighting the flares they go away faster. 2. Change Your Attitude
When you let yourself get focused on what you are missing or what you “should” be doing, you are wasting energy, energy that your body needs to recover. When you can change your attitude and accept that there are just going to be some days that you need to take it easy and allow yourself to do just that, you will find those bad days come fewer and further apart.Focusing on what you should be doing during a flare, is only wasting energy. The only thing you should be doing is what you need to be doing - REST. Click To Tweet
3. Remember the Good
It’s amazing how fast we can forget the bad days when all we experience are the good. We need the bad days sometimes to remind us just how good the good days are, and appreciate them. There is good in every day. Seek to find it even on the bad days. Click To Tweet
4. Count Your Blessings
However small they may be, it’s important to focus on what is still good about your day. Maybe it’s that you can get caught up on a favorite tv show, maybe it’s time to curl up with your kittens and enjoy your fuzzy PJs, there is always something good to focus on. Focus on the positives, rather than the negatives and avoid wasting energy.Your energy is limited, don't waste it by focusing on the negative. On bad days it's even more important to focus on your blessings. Click To Tweet
5. Focus on your needs
It’s difficult when we are in a flare to not get caught up in the needs of others that we are not meeting. But, you have to focus on your own needs before you can help anyone else. Just like they say on the airplane, put your oxygen mask on before helping others. You can’t give what you do have. So, focus on rebuilding yourself so that you can later help others.Focus on your needs first, so that later, when you are feeling better, you can help others. Click To Tweet
