The whole is more important than in individual part

Last Updated: February 19, 2013

I fired my Physical Therapist today. A few weeks ago I posted that the Pelvic Pain specialist I saw recommended that I do physical therapy for the abdominal pain and the vaginal pain I've been dealing with for a while. He suggested a particular PT place in my area that does the vaginal work. … [Read more...]

It’s a 3 juice kind of day

Last Updated: February 7, 2013

Purple People Eater Juice, Get Well Juice, Green JuiceYesterday was my first physical therapy appointment. The place in town that specializes in Fibromyalgia doesn't do pelvic wall therapy, so I went to the place that the Dr recommended. I've been there before, at least twice, prior to the … [Read more...]

The Storm After the Calm: Learning to tolerate pain

Last Updated: November 2, 2011

I think the pain is getting better, no you're just getting used to it.

This flare is going on a week and it's some of the worst pain I've had in over a year. But then I wonder... "Is it really?". Is it really the worst pain I've had in a year? Or does it just feel that way because it followed such a nice period of (almost) pain-free calm? I've often felt like we … [Read more...]

I was thinking today that we need a Fibro equivalent of that saying for those days when we wake up and … [Read more...]

I’m Freezing! Or am I just really hot?

Last Updated: December 10, 2010

One of the joys of Fibro is a completely screwed up sense of temperature. Add to that all the fun aches and pains and you may not realize for days that you are really sick (at least that's how it is for me). Yesterday, I spent all day chilled to the bone, aching in every muscle and feeling like I … [Read more...]

Fibromyalgia and Increased Sensitivity to Noise, Lights, Smells, People

Last Updated: September 2, 2010

I've had a slight case of social anxiety for the last 5 or 6 years. I'd managed to deal with it for the most part, although every once in a while a situation would jump out at me. The last couple of years have been a little harder, I have to force myself through certain situations, but lately I … [Read more...]

Watsu for Fibromyalgia

Last Updated: June 8, 2010

What you should know about Watsu

Watsu for Fibromyalgia pain relief! When I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, my doctor recommended water-based physical therapy. I had no idea what that meant and assumed it was just water aerobics. Luckily, I was wrong. Shortly after beginning physical therapy I was introduced to Watsu, a type of … [Read more...]
