Can Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Help Fibromyalgia?

Last Updated: December 16, 2016

Mindfulness-based stress reduction for fibromyalgia relief

Meditation is a topic that I've been interested in for a while, yet on the borderline. I'm interested and I've stuck my toe in the water a time or two using meditation apps but I've never really taken the plunge or made meditation a regular part of my life. I'm reading The Whole Health Life by … [Read more...]

Back in June of 2016 a guy named Steve contacted me about his device, the … [Read more...]

Sunbeam Heating Pads - #FindYourAhh

I'm not a fan of cold packs. Let's just get that out there. When I was in PT regularly it seemed like they always wanted to hook me up to a TENS machine then wrap me in cold packs. All I would do is cinch up, forcing my muscles to get even tighter than they already were, creating more pain. I … [Read more...]

Let’s STOP Pretending

Last Updated: June 7, 2015

People have rough times and everybody's pretending it's not true, and we need to break that veneer. It's time to stop pretending that everything is OK when it's not.

Sometimes I worry that people will read my blog and see the positivity I try to share, and the fact that I've said I feel I've recovered from Fibromyalgia and think that that means I'm 100% hunky-dory and never have a bad day. But, that's not the truth. I still have bad days and I don't try to … [Read more...]

The Complete Guide to Turmeric

Last Updated: May 1, 2015

I'm a big fan of Turmeric for pain relief. Thanks to some ulcers a few years back I can no longer take NSAID pain relievers (Advil, Aleve), and sadly the pain I have often doesn't respond to other pain medications. The problems I've had in my shoulder are a great example. We still have no idea what … [Read more...]
