Diet and Nutrition for Fibromyalgia

Diet and nutrition have become primary ways that I've improved fibromyalgia symptoms. I've learned that controlling what I eat and put in my body has a direct effect on how I feel. Cutting out gluten and grains, and juicing on a daily basis has greatly improved the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

OAK Juice & Fibro Fog

Last Updated: January 15, 2013

Necessity is the mother of invention they say. It's raining barrels here... or something larger. And my Fibro fog has been kicking in a bit during my recovery. I just finally got back to juicing last week. I wish I'd been able to juice from the beginning and if I have to go through something like … [Read more...]

The Whole 30

Last Updated: July 19, 2012

So, I finally downloaded a copy of It Starts with Food: Discover the Whole30 and Change Your Life in Unexpected Ways, the book that explains The Whole 30 and the science behind it. I'm about 75% of the way through now and I've convinced myself I definitely need to do a Whole 30. The main reason … [Read more...]

6 easy diet changes to help you feel better

Thinking back several years to how terrible I felt, it really does amaze me how far I've come. During my early days with fibromyalgia, I was in bed almost every day, I was quite honestly one step away from suicidal. I was a day away from checking myself into the hospital. It took reaching a breaking … [Read more...]

Last Updated: June 19, 2012

I saw this on Facebook this morning and it really is the perfect analogy. It really struck a chord with me, as I thought about what it was saying. I haven't tried the Whole 30 exactly, but they way I … [Read more...]

What Exactly Is Your Diet?

Last Updated: May 6, 2012

I get this question a LOT. The other variation is "So you are doing the Paleo diet?". The answer, "no not really". I'm not really following any specific diet. I looked into the Paleo diet (as I posted here) and it is probably the closest thing to what I'm doing that currently exists, but no not … [Read more...]

Spicy Watermelon Tango Juice

Last Updated: March 22, 2012

I like a little (and sometimes a lot) of spice. A couple of years ago I discovered my favorite mixed drink. We have a local bar that we like to check out on occasion that mixes everything by hand (all fresh ingredients, no mixes, etc) and we'd been out to dinner. I wanted desert but I didn't want a … [Read more...]

Treating Fibromyalgia with Food

The sad part is that I now am pretty sure I know what it would take to make me feel 100% better full time, I just also know myself well enough to know that I don't have the willpower to make it happen. Sweet Pepper Juice II -Orange Bell Pepper, Pinapple, strawberries & gingerSo what would … [Read more...]

Two juice recipes

Last Updated: February 26, 2012

I've been dealing with a nasty cluster headache this week. When the pain is bad all I can do is move around to try to distract myself from it. When the pain passes I'm typically just wiped out and feel pretty much like I'm dealing with Fibro. This week has been pretty much like dealing with Fibro. … [Read more...]
