Diet and Nutrition for Fibromyalgia

Diet and nutrition have become primary ways that I've improved fibromyalgia symptoms. I've learned that controlling what I eat and put in my body has a direct effect on how I feel. Cutting out gluten and grains, and juicing on a daily basis has greatly improved the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

How to make kombucha

Last Updated: July 19, 2013

The Scoby, yes that's the way it's supposed to look.A few months ago a friend from my local Fibromyalgia support group told me about Kombucha. After reading all the natural things I'd been trying, she thought I might want to look into this, as well. I wasn't really familiar with it, so I looked it … [Read more...]

Preparing for a Faster Recovery – Freezing Juice

Last Updated: June 10, 2013

Another surgery scheduled for 2 weeks from today. Just enough time to really get me anxious, but also just enough time to make sure I'm actually prepared this time. I hope. One thing I'm doing is making up juice in advance so that I will have plenty on hand during recovery. I really missed my fresh … [Read more...]

Travelling Gluten Free with Fibro

Last Updated: May 30, 2013

Just three years ago I posted about our last trip to Colorado Springs, it was a much different trip. I don't remember a lot about that trip other than I spent a lot of time in our hotel room taking naps, and avoiding being touched by my family. This year we headed back out for my niece's graduation … [Read more...]

I want a Taco: Stat!

Last Updated: April 8, 2013

Given that I'd already cut out most of the foods that aren't allowed in the Whole 30, this should be an easy month. The problem is that I have a thing for Tacos. Actually, giving up the "added sugar" is an easier part of the Whole 30 for me than giving up corn. Here's the list of what you are … [Read more...]

Surviving the Whole 30: Day 2

Last Updated: April 2, 2013

tuna & carrots for lunch & nutsThis was my lunch today (Day 3). Day 2 went by pretty uneventfully. However, I can't say I didn't stray at all. I did add a packet of raw sugar to my coffee. I'm really trying to get to where I can drink it totally black (but it's hard). I was thinking that I'd … [Read more...]

Why I started the Whole30 Yesterday

Last Updated: April 1, 2013

Because I need more willpower! Ok, that's why I started it at all, it's not why I started The Whole30 yesterday. I started it yesterday because starting something like that on April Fools Day just seemed like a bad idea.I know my diet is pretty damn clean compared to most people. I don't eat gluten … [Read more...]

Alcohol & Fibromyalgia

Last Updated: March 22, 2013

The study making the rounds this week seems to show that drinking a few drinks a week (up to 1 a day) can help those of us with Fibro feel better. I've posted in the past that during some of my worst days I craved alcohol and having a drink or two definitely made me feel better. Of course, it's … [Read more...]

Is Juicing Right For Me?

Last Updated: March 4, 2013

How long have you been juicing? I began juicing in January of 2012.  What Juicer do you have? I have the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain. I had used my mom's Jack Lalaine juicer for a few days, prior to purchasing my own. I wasn't happy with how difficult it was to clean the Jack Lalaine or how … [Read more...]

Purple People Eater Juice, Get Well Juice, Green JuiceYesterday was my first physical therapy appointment. The place in town that specializes in Fibromyalgia doesn't do pelvic wall therapy, so I went to the place that the Dr recommended. I've been there before, at least twice, prior to the … [Read more...]

With a new year upon us many of my friends are trying out new diet regimes. I've had several tell me that they either bought a new juicer or want to buy one as part of their health goals this year. It's not uncommon for my friends to message me and ask about specific juicer brands and how good they … [Read more...]
