Travelling Gluten Free with Fibro

Last Updated: May 30, 2013

Just three years ago I posted about our last trip to Colorado Springs, it was a much different trip. I don't remember a lot about that trip other than I spent a lot of time in our hotel room taking naps, and avoiding being touched by my family. This year we headed back out for my niece's graduation … [Read more...]

I want a Taco: Stat!

Last Updated: April 8, 2013

Given that I'd already cut out most of the foods that aren't allowed in the Whole 30, this should be an easy month. The problem is that I have a thing for Tacos. Actually, giving up the "added sugar" is an easier part of the Whole 30 for me than giving up corn. Here's the list of what you are … [Read more...]

Surviving the Whole 30: Day 2

Last Updated: April 2, 2013

tuna & carrots for lunch & nutsThis was my lunch today (Day 3). Day 2 went by pretty uneventfully. However, I can't say I didn't stray at all. I did add a packet of raw sugar to my coffee. I'm really trying to get to where I can drink it totally black (but it's hard). I was thinking that I'd … [Read more...]

Why I started the Whole30 Yesterday

Last Updated: April 1, 2013

Because I need more willpower! Ok, that's why I started it at all, it's not why I started The Whole30 yesterday. I started it yesterday because starting something like that on April Fools Day just seemed like a bad idea.I know my diet is pretty damn clean compared to most people. I don't eat gluten … [Read more...]

The Whole 30

Last Updated: July 19, 2012

So, I finally downloaded a copy of It Starts with Food: Discover the Whole30 and Change Your Life in Unexpected Ways, the book that explains The Whole 30 and the science behind it. I'm about 75% of the way through now and I've convinced myself I definitely need to do a Whole 30. The main reason … [Read more...]

6 Easy Diet Changes To Make You Feel Better

6 easy diet changes to help you feel better

Thinking back several years to how terrible I felt, it really does amaze me how far I've come. During my early days with fibromyalgia, I was in bed almost every day, I was quite honestly one step away from suicidal. I was a day away from checking myself into the hospital. It took reaching a breaking … [Read more...]

A Little Bit Matters

Last Updated: June 19, 2012

I saw this on Facebook this morning and it really is the perfect analogy. It really struck a chord with me, as I thought about what it was saying. I haven't tried the Whole 30 exactly, but they way I … [Read more...]

What Exactly Is Your Diet?

Last Updated: May 6, 2012

I get this question a LOT. The other variation is "So you are doing the Paleo diet?". The answer, "no not really". I'm not really following any specific diet. I looked into the Paleo diet (as I posted here) and it is probably the closest thing to what I'm doing that currently exists, but no not … [Read more...]

Treating Fibromyalgia with Food

The sad part is that I now am pretty sure I know what it would take to make me feel 100% better full time, I just also know myself well enough to know that I don't have the willpower to make it happen. Sweet Pepper Juice II -Orange Bell Pepper, Pinapple, strawberries & gingerSo what would … [Read more...]
