Diet and Nutrition for Fibromyalgia

Diet and nutrition have become primary ways that I've improved fibromyalgia symptoms. I've learned that controlling what I eat and put in my body has a direct effect on how I feel. Cutting out gluten and grains, and juicing on a daily basis has greatly improved the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

Juicing Day 2 (Tempted By Chicken)

Last Updated: January 4, 2012

Day 2 went by pretty easy until Paul came home and I had to smell his chicken cooking in the oven (chicken that I cooked for him). It smelled so good! That says a lot since I've been "over" chicken for quite a while. However, I made it through another day of juicing and all in all it was maybe a … [Read more...]

Changing Your Diet (Review: The Kaizen Plan for Healthy Eating)

Last Updated: January 3, 2012

Changing your diet with the Kaizen Plan for healthy eating

When it comes to making dietary changes there are two ways to go about it. There's the approach I'm taking of basically removing everything and starting from scratch. Juicing for several days to a week, then slowly adding foods back in. By slowly adding foods in you have a chance to see what … [Read more...]

Juicing Day 1 (I Survived)

Last Updated: January 3, 2012

I made it through the first day of my juice fast and it went pretty well actually. Although I do have to wonder if part of that is because of this cold I'm carrying around and the fact that it's probably dulling  my appetite. I picked up my mom's juicer on Sunday afternoon, so I'd have time to … [Read more...]

Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead

Last Updated: December 19, 2011

Updated 5/15/14 That's me. Or so it feels like sometimes. Nutrition and diet have definitely been on my mind lately with all the stomach issues I've had lately, so it seemed timely to watch this movie today. Some friends had mentioned it to me a while back but I'd put off watching it. If you … [Read more...]

Review: Tai Chi Basics

Last Updated: October 26, 2011

After reading a few dozen articles extolling the virtues of Tai Chi for those of us with Fibromyalgia, I finally broke down and gave it a try. I knew I needed something I could do that would get me moving slowly, but I found many Yoga moves too stressful on my upper body/neck issues. After reading … [Read more...]

Getting Moving With Fibro: Fibromyalgia and Exercise

Last Updated: March 29, 2011

I was talking with my hubby last night about how far I've come with my Fibromyalgia and exercise. Just the idea that I can run (ok, jog) for 1/8 of a mile at a time is pretty cool. A year ago at this time, just the idea of walking across a parking lot wore me out. When I first got diagnosed, I … [Read more...]

Journaling

Last Updated: February 8, 2011

There was a while back when I felt the worst that I got pretty good at keeping a log of my symptoms. Isn't it funny how that works? When you feel worse you will do anything to feel better but as you start feeling better you stop doing the things you should? At least I know that's how it is for me. I … [Read more...]

Aspartame & Fibromyalgia

Last Updated: November 30, 2010

A couple of months ago I posted a review of a documentary about Aspartame, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, and all the possible issues it may cause.Aspartame is one of the 7 foods to avoid for those of us with Fibromyalgia. It's stated that this is because it stimulates a pain receptor in the brain, … [Read more...]

Ginger for Pain Relief?

Last Updated: November 26, 2010

A recent study has shown that ginger does in fact reduce muscle pain by about 25%. I love ginger, love the smell and the taste. I'm thinking ginger tea could be a great additive to my daily regimen. They say that the benefits are much like that of an NSAID, which I can't take so this may be a great … [Read more...]
