Be Nimble and quick to open packages!

Last Updated: April 18, 2016

Welcome! It looks like you might be new here, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about me and my blog. My name is Julie Ryan and I live with Fibromyalgia. I've chosen to live positively, to fight back with diet and lifestyle changes and it's made a huge difference for me. The difference between living all my days in bed, and actually LIVING. I hope you'll keep reading and subscribe to my Newsletter to make sure you don't miss a post. Thanks for visiting!

*BTW, just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links (some of my posts do).

Welcome back! I'm so glad that you are here again. If you've not already, be sure to subscribe to my Newsletter and I'll update you each time I post (and occasionally I'll send you something special).

Just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links.

One of the joys (or not) of living with chronic illness is that shopping kind of sucks the life out of you. Sometimes leaving the house sucks the life out of you. So, instead I order a lot online. I order my supplements online, I order a lot of clothes online. I do about as much shopping online as I can.

Shopping online means lots of packages coming to the house. Big and small. Sometimes I greet the UPS man at the door as he struggles with a package that he quickly points out is heavy. With packages comes opening packages which can be a huge frustration for me. Even the “frustration free” packaging that Amazon claims to offer is not always so “frustration free” to get to. Sure the product packaging is fine, but the box surrounding it still requires a machete to open.opening packages is easier with a Nimble

But, not any more!

I don’t typically do product review type posts on Mondays, but I’m making an exception today because there’s a time sensitive offer related to this one and quite honestly after giving this product a try and my first response being “REALLY?! WOW!” I wanted to make sure you were able to get in on the Early Bird deals with this.

Disclosure: I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by Nimble.

When I was first offered to review the Nimble product I didn’t expect much. I actually expected something that was going to be so sharp that it opened packages but it also cut through the clothes inside. Then I started seeing some of my friends talking about how amazed they were by this thing right out of the package. I still kept my expectations low. Then my Nimble finally arrived and I was blown away!

The day that my Nimble arrived I received about a half dozen packages. Talk about perfect timing. I opened the Nimble package first and I was greeted not only by my Nimble but by a small bag of Haribo candies. What a nice treat!

The Nimble way to open packagesNext I started opening packages. At first I thought there was a cap on the Nimble that I needed to remove as I couldn’t see a blade. I was wrong. The black area is the blade and it’s amazingly sharp enough to cut open the packages but it didn’t cut me when I slipped.

I started with the box. That little blade cut right through the packaging on the box – the packaging I usually have to find a kitchen knife or package shears to open. No problem. The envelopes even easier. I just laid them on a flat surface and sliced with my finger and the Nimble cut right through the paper. Even the plastic envelopes that at times seem impossible to open even with scissors, no problem.

So, what’s the deal with this fancy little device. So, the cool folks at Version 22 Designs created this little product a while back and they are now ready to release version 2 of the Nimble and do a larger run of the product (because they’ve just about sold out of the version they sent me). The updated version won’t be much different just a little better (although I’m not sure how they can improve on something that’s already so awesome).

Not only is this thing amazing for cutting open packages but I’m imagining how much easier it will make cutting wrapping paper, or cutting out coupons, or cutting well anything. I wonder if it’ll cut cloth….

In order to raise funds for their next run they are doing a Kickstarter (and this is where those time sensitive deals come into play). They have some Early Bird specials that will likely be gone after today, but even if you don’t catch the Early Bird deals the Kickstarter deals are still a steal over the suggested retail price.

Nimble: The easy way to open packages

If you aren’t familiar with Kickstarter (where have you been hiding?), the idea is that a business can raise capitol they need by offering pre-sales on their items (or by offering “kickbacks” to “investors”). You invest in the business and in return they give you something back (usually their product). If they don’t reach the amount they are shooting for you aren’t out anything, but if they do then the amount you pledge goes to them and in a few months (once they’ve had time to get the product manufactured) you get your item. It takes a little longer than it would if you were ordering a product that is already available for sale, but you get a discount for being a awesome and patient.

Check out the Nimble Kickstarter and order your Nimble. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
