I realized this morning that it’s been a year since I posted the first Fibro Warrior interview – Thursday – July 31, 2013 was the date and that first Warrior is a good friend of mine, Beverly P. Since then I’ve shared a new interview almost every week (with a brief interruption at the first of this year). I’ve made many new friends and have learned so much from each of the stories that have been shared. I want to keep sharing these stories, as they not only inspire me but I keep hearing from you guys how much they inspire you, as well. I want to share YOUR stories.
Every one of us is a Warrior in our own way. I know some folks take issue with the idea that we are warriors, they feel (and I do as well) that we are just doing what we must. But, what we must is more than many can do. I think it’s important for everyone (Spoonie and non) to realize that we do warrior through each day. That the warriors aren’t just those amazing stories where people have cured their illness, or managed to go from lying in bed every day to running a triathlon. We are all warriors. We all fight every day. We fight our illness, we fight for normalcy. We fight to just get through the day. That’s what makes us warriors; the fact that we keep fighting.
So, this is my call to you to share your story. I’ve recently expanded to also sharing the stories of those who provide love and care to those of us who are chronically ill (whether Fibro or not), because you are also warriors, and we really do appreciate you. Also, your stories help others who may be having a difficult time with their role as caregiver. If you fight Fibro, are a Spoonie (of any kind) or provide care to someone who is chronically ill, I’m inviting you to share your story. Please contact me either via email or via the form provided here. The interview is easy, I will send you the questions and you can respond to them either in writing or create a video to share your responses.
