I ran across this image on Twitter recently that said “Just Because I am Strong Enough to Handle PAIN, Doesn’t Mean I Deserve it!”
I couldn’t help but be struck by the truth of it, but what really jumped out in my mind was this thought that NO ONE deserves pain. We didn’t earn it. We didn’t do anything so bad that we need to be punished with it. We shouldn’t feel like it’s some sort of lesson for us. There’s no explaining why the pain is there. It just is. But, no matter what else you might think about your pain, You don’t deserve the pain. None of us do.

I always think there must be a bigger reason for the pain, like I’m being prepared for greater things. This image is true though, no one deserves it. I hope one day research finds a true cure, at least we are not alone.

I think that we can all choose to do something with our pain and create something good out of it – thus creating a “bigger reason” if you will. It’s just a matter of whether we choose to do so.

I always think, if it wasn’t me it would be someone else. I think I’d rather have fibro than someone I loved. But you’re right. No one deserves it.

I’d rather it not be anyone. I wouldn’t wish this one someone I didn’t like.
