Review: I Love Juice Bar Huntsville

Last Updated: May 9, 2014

Welcome! It looks like you might be new here, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about me and my blog. My name is Julie Ryan and I live with Fibromyalgia. I've chosen to live positively, to fight back with diet and lifestyle changes and it's made a huge difference for me. The difference between living all my days in bed, and actually LIVING. I hope you'll keep reading and subscribe to my Newsletter to make sure you don't miss a post. Thanks for visiting!

*BTW, just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links (some of my posts do).

Mint to Be juice

Back in March I noticed a temporary sign up for a new place opening in the Whitesburg/Airport shopping strip that houses Fresh Market and about a dozen restaurants. The name on the sign – Juice Bar. To say I was a little excited was probably an understatement. So, when I saw that I Love Juice Bar Huntsville was finally open I stopped in to check it out. I kept my expectations low figuring it would basically be another Smoothie King offering some fresh squeezed orange juice. So, when I saw what it really was I was both surprised and delighted!

I Love Juice Bar! is a franchise, of a juice bar out of Nashville by the same name. I walked in and looked around what I saw was a menu offering REAL fresh juices and juice combinations, as well as smoothies. That first visit I was there around lunch time and had already had my morning green juice so I opted for a smoothie – The Blue Chocolatta (Blueberries, Almond Butter, Cocoa powder, Bananas, & Coconut Milk). It was quite tasty and filling.

Later in the week I was running late and didn’t have time to make my juice so I stopped in for my morning green juice. They don’t have a combo that is exactly what I normally make so I went for what looked the closest. Ginger Greens is their Sweet Greens (Apple, Cucumber, Kale & Lemon) juice with Ginger added. After asking how strong the ginger was, I opted to add an extra half shot of ginger to the mix, which made for a very tasty combination. It’s sweeter than my usual morning green juice and missing the celery but definitely a good option when I’m running late.

I’ve tried two more of their smoothies, Mint to Be and Cocoa Banana, and both of those were excellent. Cocoa Banana is just what you’d expect from mixing peanut butter and banana with a little cocoa powder. They throw in some spinach just to add a little healthy to it. Mint to Be is a super refreshing fruit smoothie, with pineapple and mint. While I was there getting my smoothie earlier in the week I decided to grab their Spring rolls to try later in the day. They are basically spinach and carrot wrapped in rice paper (raw), with a peanut dipping sauce. It was pretty tasty and filling. I am definitely looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

In addition to juices and smoothies, they also offer bottled Kombucha, a quinoa salad, veggies & humus, and fruit bowls. AND, they are carrying some treats from Mason-Dixon (gluten-free) Bakery!
