If you’ve not had your ducts cleaned in a while, it’s time to do so.
I recently had ours cleaned and I was quite surprised at the outcome. It turned out that there’s no telling what issues our air flow might have been causing as it turned out that our system wasn’t just pulling in air, but moisture and possibly mold.
The insulation around the system under the house was flooded, as evidently the pump that should have removed excess moisture had broken down, or the pipe was clogged, or something. Given the potential for mold being blown into my house via the air system, I’d say this was a must do for us and we didn’t even realize it. Mold can lead to a lot of negative health issues and could be adding to many that we already have.
I will say that this was one case that proved the adage of “sometimes you get what you pay for”. We’d had this done about six years ago, and when these guys came out they could tell within five minutes which company had been out before them, because of the mess they’d left behind.
