COGGS Juice

Last Updated: January 14, 2012

Welcome! It looks like you might be new here, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little about me and my blog. My name is Julie Ryan and I live with Fibromyalgia. I've chosen to live positively, to fight back with diet and lifestyle changes and it's made a huge difference for me. The difference between living all my days in bed, and actually LIVING. I hope you'll keep reading and subscribe to my Newsletter to make sure you don't miss a post. Thanks for visiting!

*BTW, just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links (some of my posts do).

Welcome back! I'm so glad that you are here again. If you've not already, be sure to subscribe to my Newsletter and I'll update you each time I post (and occasionally I'll send you something special).

Just a heads up that the post below may have affiliate links.

I just made this and I had to write it down while I could remember what I put in it. I had hubby try it and he agreed it was quite tasty.

1/2 dozen Strawberries (hull removed)
1/2 Grapfruit
1 orange
1 handful spinach
Chunk of Ginger
4 large Carrots

Now he’s hassling me and trying to say it’s a $4 glass of juice – which of course it doesn’t even come close! (Maybe half that).

As you can see I try to get a little green in most of my juices (not all, but most). Although, I’m running a little low today as I ran out of Kale yesterday and haven’t managed to find any today, so all I have left is Spinach and Romaine (haven’t tried the latter in a juice yet, guessing it might not add much).

It could be possible, I guess. Meds react differently in different people. Just wanted to give you a heads up, just in case. I read it on the paper that comes from the pharmacy with your prescription (yeah I read them every once in a while). Anyway, hope your diet is going well for you!

Read the article. It doesn’t appear to be a major issue. Between the fact that I decreased my neurontin and that my neurologists has actually suggested I could up it to help migraines, it makes me wonder if the grapefruit didn’t actually work in my favor.

Here is a link I found describing why, along with some other things to avoid (I noticed in one entry you were talking about alcohol)
Good luck with the new diet, I am considering something similar. http://www.livestrong.com/article/51072-foods-avoid-taking-neurontin/

I haven’t read ghat about grapefruit and neurontin. Ive looked for it as I know there are some drugs that cant be combined with grapefruit. I will have to dig some more. All I know at this point is ive felt a lot better between the juicing and removing gluten and dairy.

I’m all for eating healthier, but you still have to watch what you add in there. Grapefruit is not supposed to be eaten while you are on neurontin. Not sure if you knew that or not.
